If a person has a 2014 2300 can the rear facing duo prop be converted to a forward facing drive.

Actually I am a salesman for a boat sales and service company and I am attempting to convince them to get some of these forward facing drives on our new boats for 2019. Our service department is stuck in their ways on only Mercrusier service. They are afraid of new technology. We do repairs on Volvo dou props already. I told them the engine is the same, the upper gear drive must be the same and the only thing that would be different is the gears where the props are. It seems logical anyhow.

Just trying to add some progressive thinking. Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.

Well, IMHO, that would be a very expensive 'proof of concept' !

I think the trim cylinders are different and allow more travel in what would have Been the negative direction on a normal outdrive. And the trim switch wiring would be backward.

I am guessing that there is no conversion between them, as they are all newer generation VP engines as well, and have connections into the drives for sensors.
Thanks, Chris

I would think even if it was possible it would not be very economical. Those drives aren't cheap.
A quick google search puts a new duo prop outdrive around $8k. Not including labor or any other parts to change over like very expensive props. Now I know that's not the drive you want but they are similar and I would bet the new forward facing drive is more. I would guess it's at least a 10k adventure. Better off putting that into a used/new boat with everything you want on it.
