33 Express Air Conditioning

Postby Dymerfarms » Mon Jun 18, 2018 4:33 pm

Our 2018 33 Express AC- it works well but the fan is on "high" regardless of what it is set at. Whether it is auto, low, med or high- the fan is full blast. We had a 28 express previously so know that it should be adjustable. Has any one else had this issue?

Thanks :)

If you go to programming mode you can select the minimum speed and maximum. I believe the range is 33% to 95%. May be yours is configured to 95% minimum.

Had the same problem on or FWD AC unit, but our blower ran continuously regardless if the AC was on, off, run with AC/heat, it would only shut off when turning the units A/C breaker off. Ended up being a control module on the AC unit itself. New control board ($238) and now everything works fine again. Only did this repair as didn't like the blower running continuously 24/7. Next thing would be a new blower motor, about $450 if the blower ran continuously!

I hope we don’t have to replace anything as boat is brand new and if we do should be under warranty. I have tried to figure out how to program the fan but can’t seem to find any instructions for that.

If the boat is new and under warranty maybe give the dealer a call. Their service department should be able to tell you how to program it.

Yes, if the boat is under factory warranty have the dealer fix it or show you how to set the AC/Heat modes including the fan settings. Showing you how to set the AC unit is the least they should do after spending $$ on the new Regal!

Have you read the AC manual?
My Dometic user manual details how to enter the peogramming mode; the first two parameters P1 and P2 allow you to set the Max and Min Fan speeds.

We had to leave for a wedding but will try this next weekend. I could only find a CD for the air conditioning so will download the manual. But these pages look like the solution. The dealer had no idea what to do and they are an hour away so we will try this. Thanks a bunch!

Interesting, is the dealer you are talking to the one that sold you the vessel? You would have to think that a Regal dealer selling vessels in your price range would have at least one mechanic or service manager that was factory trained to help you with something as simple as setting your AC parameters to solve your problem? Hopefully you will get it figured out! As our 2X AC units are so old (2001) not much I can add to xixp's comments and his sending you the pages from his AC owners manual to help. Just FYI, both of our Marine Air Passport II units still running great, just had to replace a control board on the fwd unit as previously explained on this forum.
