Re Upholstering Bridge Deck Cushions

Postby gofast24 » Sat Apr 21, 2018 10:14 am

I am having 1X seat cushion re upholstered (the seat cushion on the bridge deck located immediately to the left of the cabin door, along the table area where you step on it to get up and through the window to get to the fore deck). This constant stepping on the seat cushion has caused the seam in the middle of the cushion to tear/split open and after tearing, any water that gets to the cushion soaks into the split seam and causes the stitching and fabric to rot/break. So, finally to my question, I want to do all the "back rest" cushions as well but have no idea of how you remove them? Seems like they are bolted on through the fiberglass back or is there a simple solution to remove them to take to the upholstery shop?

Thanks

Normally they have screws tucked right under the cushion. Look around all the edges and press back / compress the cushion and you will see some tabs with screws in them.
Thanks, Chris

Just FYI,
I put the newly re upholstered seat cushion in and then saw the two screws under the bottom of back cushion. Simple to remove but now what happens when I remover them? There are 2 or 3 hidden screws on the top of the back cushion that are not possible to get at with a screw driver? Guess I should just remove the bottom screws and see if the back cushion just lifts up?? Is it Possible that it is just hanging on a "U" bracket and will just lift up and off?

Yes they typically just lift off. There could be tabs on the sides as well, so check there.
Thanks, Chris

On my 3260 I had to repair the the port stern cushion and all i had to do was take 3 screws out of the bottom of the backrest and the backrest lifted right up.
