Pump Out Nozzle Adapter

Postby timp4411 » Sun Oct 15, 2017 8:27 pm

Hi All.

Anyone tried one of these nozzle adapters on their pump-out fitting ?

https://www.marinesan.com/16-tpi-4-5-tp ... 343504.htm

I seem to have a horrible time getting suction when I pump out.

The nozzles are usualy cracked and degraded and leak.

I have a 2006 3860 am think the fitting I need is the 1-1/2", but am not sure what I woul dneed.

Thanks.

Yes..I have one of those. I keep it on board as a spare in case the pump station does not have the right size adapter for my boat.
If you go on the defender site and look this part up, there is instructions on exactly how to measure your current plug in order to know what size adapter to order.

Thanks Kikaboo.

Have you been happy with the way yours works?

What size did you purchase?

Yes..works perfect. Screw it on to the boat then the pump-out nozzle clamps/locks into the adapter. I tried to look up what size I ordered but was not able to find it. However I know on the 32Express, the nozzle was on the smaller size. I remember at the time just doing the measurements according to the info page from the Defender site and was able to get the correct one.

Thanks Kikaboo

I believe the adapter is also used to obtain a better seal if you merely insert the rubber pumpout nozzle into the adapter.

That would be my primary use.

I don't really want to have to disconnect the existing rubber nozzle on the pumpout to attach the clamp to the threaded adapter if I can avoid it.

In case anyone is interested, the adapter that fits for my 2006 3860 is the:

NOZALL, 1-1/2" MPT - 11.5 TPI. Item #310343502.

I have not actually used it yet, but will this weekend.

I always use rubber gloves.....attache the adapter hook the pump nozzle on and throw the ball valve on.....you don't have to stand and hold it .....you can attend to other things near by.....I like the adapter...Rick

Thanks MyPleasure.

I keep a box of Nitrile gloves on the boat at all time.

They are great to help keep hands clean when checking the oil too.

That was very nice.

They cost anywhere from $20.00 to $40.00 depending on where you purchase them.
