I have the 7612 xsv , its the variation that has chirp sonar built in.
No complains so far, i added a chirp in hull transducer and a temp probe and it works very well.
I have it networked to my Fusion stereo ,Volvo engines and Kholer gemmy via the Nmea interface and everything looks Great.
Wifi cnnectivity to connect the Garmin app and mirror the Screen works very good as well.

My previous boat had the older generation sold until 2015 and overall speed of this unit is way better.

Anything special you would like to know?

Thank you....

I have the 5212 now and I'm considering replacing it with the 7612. 5212 does fine - just slow to redraw and it will not network to all the new 'stuff'....but it is $4000. So I am debating is it worth it. 5212 is old technology that will not be supported anymore and 7612 has lots of updates and 'life' left in her. But it's $4000....lol. But the 7612 will handle the camera video whereas the the 5212 the camera picture will be bad and choppy. FWP....I know....

How does your Fusion stereo network into the 7612. What does it do for you on the screen?

You can control all the stereo features (audio, track control, track info). Its basically a better user interface.

I also have 7612, installed last winter with Repeater Display, B&G VHF AIS, Fusion Head Unit and (2) wired fusion remotes, Garmin Aquatix watch and (2) Garmin Fuel Flow monitors alll tied together via Nema 2000.

All really works well together and I do love the 7612 other than the $3k costs for the 7612, I have no complaints.

See link of the install....viewtopic.php?f=24&t=10819&p=63694#p62360
