New to Boating and Love it

Postby Delach » Thu May 04, 2017 6:11 pm

Hello, hoping somebody can give me a simple tutorial on the depth gauge on our regal 22 foot bowrider that I just purchased off of a friend of mine. I know what the depth gauge does, but I need help understand how to operate it. Is it as simple as if I set it to 6 feet, it will alarm whenever the depth drops below 6 feet? Also, is it normal for the gauge to go all wonky when the depth is really shallow?
Thanks for the advice

Your friend that you purchased the boat from may be able to help. I set the low depth warning sound on mine but when my wife was putting it on the trailer at the ramp of course it went off and scared her. I now have it silenced. The only time mine goes wonky is when traveling fast as it can't pick up the bottom as well.
