Anchor Turner

Has anyone tried this or similar anchor turner? If so, could you provide any feed back.

Typically I anchor in mud and when its windy, my anchor/chain can come up pretty muddy. About 50% of the time, the anchor is turned the wrong way and I can not pull it all the way up into the roller as it would be backwards. I then either have to use a pole to spin it or reach down and spin in by hand. When the anchor/chain is muddy, this can get messy.

I never knew they hade these things!

With a swivel my anchor seems to come up the proper direction with no problems. I use the Mantus anchor, and previously had a delta plow type.

Well I decided to order this anchor turner and see how it goes. I currently have a swivel but I would say its like 50/50 on the anchor being a position where it can go all the way up without me getting involved. They way the 32Exp is, if I have to twist the anchor back into position, I need to lay down in my stomach, reach over and down the bow and twist it around to a good retrieval position. If the anchor or chain is muddy it gets on my hands then when I lift myself off the bow, I get the bow all dirty. Since the 32 does not have a bow wash down it gets annoying.

This anchor turner seems like a simple solution so I figure it worth a shot. I'll will report my findings once I have it, install it and test it. :D

Right... it would be really helpful but its not even an option. Although, the water tank and all the plumbing is right there in the bow area and there seems to be room in the anchor locker itself to add a spray nozzle. I have only given this about 5 minutes thought but I may look into that further. Maybe this years winter project if its even possible.

I always leave a muddy anchor dangling a foot or two under water and idle out of the anchorage area for awhile until the anchor is clean, then pull it up to the stop.

That anchor turner seems like a great idea.

Sometimes I do the same to clean off the anchor. Depends on how crowded the anchorage is and what the wind is like.

In terms of the anchor turnder, the thing actually works. I will post some pics this weekend.
