Anchor - Replacement - 3560/3760/38Express

Postby rlynch03 » Mon Jul 04, 2016 2:26 pm

I am seriously considering a Norestar Chrome (Delta Style) 33lb or 22lb anchor. I prefer the 33lb because we plan to anchor overnight often and the extra weight may be good piece of mind.

Just looking for what everyone else uses and and has had good luck with.

I agree don't skimp on the anchor. For sure use a 33lb at least. Ground tackle is one thing you can oversize on and it will help. Just need a correct anchor guide for the type and size of anchor you use.
Thanks, Chris

I went with a 35lb Delta on my 3880. I had to replace the anchor roller with a longer one in order to make it fit. The roller was pretty easy to swap out as the new one did not have any holes so we drilled it out to match the old one.

Used to have an Fortress anchor that I always had a hard time getting it set. We boat in mud/sand. The Delta is easy to set and holds great.

I went to a Mantus anchor. Wow, it grabs so much faster and holds well.

Take a look at the YouTube reviews.

If anyone in the Boston or north area wants one, I bought one size too large for my boat. The Storm anchor rated size and I don't need one this big. If you like, buy the smaller size for yourself and I'll swap with you, this will save you some money.

I love this anchor.

I tried the Lewmar SS 35lb Delta Style. Unfortunately would not fit. Just returned it for a 22lb everything being the same.

Bought a 35# Mantus for my '04 3560. Best anchor I've ever had on any boat. Has set first try in all bottom types every time, amazing anchor.

I would say the 35 lb is probably perfect for most conditions on the 3560.

I have the 45 lb Mantus on my 3560. I'd say it's more of a storm anchor size for the 3560. It's also the largest that would fit on the 3560, any longer and it wouldn't fit considering the length of the shank and the windlass position.

I'm loving the Mantus, never yet had it not set.

They have it in stainless also, if you prefer a good looking anchor over galvanized.

Repositioned the roller and got the 35lb Delta SS to fit. Maybe try a different holder to show more anchor Leg...Lol
