2008 Volvo Raymarine/Garmin NMEA Communication

I am sure this is a beaten subject but did the factory deliver any of the 2007-2009 Volvo with Engine Data reporting to the Raymarine or Garmin Chartplotters?

Did Volvo include the NEMA information from the motors? I have seen a few workarounds but...

My 2003 Mercury Optimax came with Mercury Smart Gauges and they provided a wealth of info between the GPS, Transducers, Motors, GPH, etc.

Only the EVC based engines (has "E" in model number) has the Volvo Gateway for N2K out of the box, its plug and play with the module. The 2006-2007's though the EVC based engines with the EGC computers have J1939 for sure. With J1939 you can get interfaces to bring the data into the N2K bus. Maretron has the interface modules.
Thanks, Chris

I have a 2005 and am considering the www.fox-Marine.com gateway devices.

My 2005 8.1Gi engines have a MEFI-4 ECU. I just need to decide if I want to spend the money on this project.
