WJH, I like the shorty poles for your bimini, when we travel the bimini is stored inside the boat and requires a lot of protection around the poles not to damage the cockpit. Plus it takes two of us to as we have to rotate the top 90*. We also have to do this when putting the boat in our garage.

Yes, I have to have the short poles to get in the garage, as well. They are a "home brew". I bought the stainless tubing and ends to match. They work pretty well - not perfect, but pretty good.

This will be a project for me this summer, I have some sacrificial aluminum poles I can use from when I added a bimini to my first boat.

Ameritex made our stock Regal cover and it is an outstanding cover, especially with the dual ratchets on the rear.
