Adding a power tower to 24fasdeck

Postby Harg52 » Sat Dec 12, 2015 9:14 am

Curious if anyone has ever added the power tower to there boat or if it can be done? I realize the expense but I have to say they look better than most after market towers. Any suggestions or anyone with nice after market towers that they feel the quality is great?........

It would probably be cheaper to sell the boat and buy one that has the Power Tower installed from the factory. That is if a power tower can be installed after the fact at all?

My 24 Fasdeck did not come with the tower either. It was a 2013 left over used 50 hrs by dealer prior to my purchase as new (Full Warranty etc.) I got a good deal and had to fight back the urge to look for a much more expensive boat with a tower. Of course now and from the start I was looking for a way to add a tower. Even my dealer a big boat yard that does a lot of work and deals in much bigger boats balked at the idea of adding the tower after the fact. I went last summer with the Bimini and enjoyed my boat but lusting after that look and potential wake board function of the tower. I sought out after market ideas and thought that the Monster tower was a good one, then had second thougts. Now the best product/tower I have found is by a company Samson Sports. https://samsonsports.com/wakeboard-towers/blade-wakeboard-towers/ Also a video of how the tower lowers https://youtu.be/FzpApnIBdko This Blade Wake tower has a hydraulic lowering mechanism that gets as close as you can to the ability of the Power tower to be lowered. I got a quote for a tower for the Fasdeck I will include it here. I loaded up on addons with the quote. It is also quoted with a upgraded paint. I think now I would just go black. I was not completely attracted to the shiny side and asked if they could do a brushed aluminum and they said they could do that. The owner also included some pictures of the tower on a Regal boat similar to ours, The 2300.

Hope it helps to know you are not alone in the quest to add a nice looking tower after the fact.

The base tower price is 2950.00
add in all the extras as outlined below and you get to my total quote.

I have not pulled the trigger on this but might do it before spring gets here. It is just really expensive. However the tower looks really sturdy and of great quality. Also consider the installation cost you and or I will pay.

total quote $4760.00
includes
extra 120 for special paint that I again would do without.
$520 for lights
$75 pre wire for speakers
$980 for dual over the top bimini
340 for shipping

I have been working with Samson sports on fitting the 24 Fasdeck with their Blade tower. After placing an order, they went to a local Boat show in Seattle, WA and did measurements on the 24 Fasdeck. What they found in doing measurements was that aft of the windshield there is a 5 in. slope. This presented some problems with the tower configurations they have. The base of the tower that meets the boat is a fixed item and can only be adjusted up to a couple of inches with shims. The tubular section of the arching tower is the part they customize in height and forward sweep. This slope presented them with an issue of getting enough forward sweep out of the arch and being able to properly fit the side accent billet piece on properly. In order to have the proper height and forward reach it changed the side profile. They offered me the option of leaving that piece off and going with the tubular structure with a cross bar on the side for strength. I gave it some thought and have gone ahead with the order. I have gone with black tower and a black over the top bimini. Along with forward and aft facing LED lights.

Now that they have the proper measurements and a solution for the 24 fasdeck you would have an easy time ordering from them. Tija (pronounced like Tia) Medina has been my contact person at Samson.

Al,

Looks great. While it may seem the tower is a bit expensive, I actually don't think the price it too bad at all. If you look at similar boats who offer a tower (power or not) as an option, even 5K would be considered a good deal. My feeling is if it something you really want and will enjoy and you can afford it, go ahead and an do it. Looking forward to the pics in the Spring.

So, After a long winter and spring, the tower is on the boat.

This is the Samson Sports Blade tower (minus the billet side accents).
Options include
bimini top
Samson 7.5 in speakers
4 LED both aft and forward facing LED lights

Here are some pictures;

I have the Samson Harpoon mounted on my 2200. Great experience with Samson sports as well. Did the measurement and install myself.

Sorry I missed your Post in January. A bit late now.

I had my dealer who has a canvas shop on site modify my cockpit cover to fit around the tower base. I happen to have a Pic from my Marina shop where we are getting her ready for the season. It is the best I have right this second. I just sat at computer and was going over the forum and saw your post. I can take some better close ups as soon as I am able.
