Well, we upgraded from the 1900ES and were surprised at how much better the 2100 feels and performs.

looking good, how is the engine performing? notice anything different with the engine?
Did you opt for the 240 engine or bigger?

Thanks, gents! The engine is a V6 280-C and it is awesome. I'm still early in the break-in period, but the power is definitely there...lots of low end. It is quite fuel efficient as well, but I am keeping it mostly in the fuel efficient range right now. Only thing I need to get used to (besides the power over our older 1900ES), is the much higher RPM's. You are cruising relatively calmly at 4800 rpm in this thing...much different than the older generation of engines.

Easily gets the 2100 up to 50 mph with a load.

I hope you were able to put a few hours on the boat, what can you tell me about the Gen 5 engine? I am very much looking forward to running my new one next summer.
Any idea on your MPG, what size prop, top speed, cruise speed rpm?

We have approximately 20 hours on the new engine and have nothing but positive reviews of the powerplant. I, unfortunately, do not have a bunch of specs to list here, but operating figures matched what was advertised based on usage thus far. It was the easiest winterization I have ever done, however. That was a nice side benefit.

We are hoping to get back on the water in about a month or so...we have had a relatively short off-season, so that is nice.

You must have the new quickndrain system? My new boat had that and it's nice, pull a lever and the boat is all drained of all its water and safe for winter...fantastic design by volvo.
Was at the best show today and talked to a lot of people about our new gen 5 engines, everyone raved about them...long overdue for volvo to put out a new fresh design tray I think will be efficient, easy to maintain and provide consistent power.
