Need to replace my trailer - central Florida

Postby Reeseter » Sun Aug 03, 2014 3:17 pm

I have a 2007 1900 and I launch it in our lake off of the beach. It's a very shallow launch and we have difficulty getting her past the Fastrac as our Shorelander has two runners front and back. We've even ripped a runner off before we figured out what was happening. Is there a Florida trailer manufacturer where I can trade this one in? Or does anyone know of someone who can modify this trailer? Near Ocala, Florida

You're pretty darn close to Orlando - where your boat is built. I'd bet you could easily find a dealer nearby you that would be happy to sell you a new trailer or even modify your current one. Seems to me you should be able to get a new longer neck mounted your trailer so you don't have to back your vehicle into the water so far to get the boat to start floating.

My 1900's new trailer has a short neck on it and I have to back my truck much further down the ramp in order to get the boat to start floating.

Try a roller trailer instead of a bunk trailer.

1. Get a hitch extension so you can push the trailer deeper

2. Get a roller trailer which is especially set up for Fastrac hulls

Idea -- You can also install new longer trailer bunks that extend from the stern up past the FasTrac hull indent. That way there is no way for FasTrac to get hung up anywhere along the rear bunk skids.

I also installed a Teflon/plastic strip on the top of the long extended carpeted bunks. This helps the boat side on and off the skids much easier.
