WHAT IS YOUR TOW VECHILE

Questions about towing your boat or boats that can be towed.

When I bought the new 2565, my Toyota Sequoia 2002 was under the tow capacity for the new boat and trailer. Although it did cope with the load quite happily with the V8 5.3 litre.
Boat and trailer loaded weigh 3575Kg (7000lbs for all you non Metric boaters), I upgraded to the New Toyota Sequoia with its V8 5.7 litre engine and a tow capacity of 355Kg (8500lbs), which is more than enough Grunt for the load behind. I don't have any issues launching and retrieving and it is great on the long haul down to The Bras D’ore Lakes in Cape Breton some 4-5 hour drive.

2008 Toyota Tundra 4x4 CrewMax 5.7 --- 2010 Regal 2520 Fastrac Volvo Penta 5.7

Just pulled it out!
Trailer need a little more adjustment to lighten the tongue. 580 Lbs now @ 1/2 tank, Im pretty sure it should be around 380 Lbs @ 1/2 tank.
Pulls nice!

Ours is a 2009 BMW X5 Diesel... pulls the boat without any issues (2006 Regal 2200) and it is soooo much better on fuel consumption than our previous car (Nissan Armada).

Well, not really mine, although I do help pay for it.
And not really a 'tow' either ...

We tow our 3760 with a Dodge 1 ton turbo diesel. We permit, use flags, banners etc. and only go about 30-35 miles. It goes from our home to the marina and back home to storage. Not something I would like to do everytday, but it works for us twice a year.

Looks great, but be very careful of the weights and measurements guys. The fines can get quite large for exceeding the GCWR of your truck. With the dry weight of the 3760 already over the max weight rating of the 3500 dually without fuel, water or stuff. The highway patrol even pulled over one of our city trucks and wrote them up because they were hauling a large tractor that put the truck overweight.

I know that I am looking for a trailer for my 3060 and the 18K triple axle aluminum alone weighs in at almost 2500-3000 lbs empty. I can't image the weight of the 4 axle steel trailer.

Other than that but that’s fun to tow! ;) Aqua Odyessy who started the tread, flipped over his dually truck when the wind caught his 3060 when going down the road. Totaled the boat but were able to salvage and fix the truck.
Thanks, Chris

Hi, Chris, I know I am overloaded but I only move it 4 times a year, this is a metalcraft trailer mgf.in salt lake city, utah. it weighs 2900 lbs. I thought it would weigh more also. the factory installed exhaust brake on the cummins really works in slowing this rig down, Maybe some day i will upgrade to a freightliner sport chassis, but for now i have to use the dodge, thanks .

2008 2200 following closely behind a 2008 Volvo XC90 V8 Sport. Slightly over the 5K lb tow limit, but it tows well and I get decent mileage (18 MPG highway). The stiffer suspension, bigger brakes, and bigger tires of the sport package really help out while towing. Very pleased with the Eagle trailer as well.

Part of the decision to purchase the 2200 was that it was the largest boat I could tow with the current vehicle. If you look at other boats that weigh in at 3,700 lbs or less, there is simply no comparison! Not much of a decision really (well, other than color choices).

I bought a 2001 2100 LSR with the 5.7 GSI last year and use my old '98 Explorer XLT with the 5.0 V8 auto and AWD. I towed it from San Fran to Vancouver, Canada without no problems, but the mountain passes were slow. I now tow it back and forth over the Cascades into central Washington. Still slow on the big climbs, but it'll cruise at 70 mph on the freeway without much of a problem. A bit of a gas pig, but much cheaper than buying a new truck! The AWD has kicked in on several boats ramps, I wouldn't want to be stuck on a ramp with a 2WD.

Chevy Silverado MAX 1500 4x4 with the 6.0L gas engine. It does a great job even though we now pull her from the storage garage to the ramp in under a mile.
