Remember that a boat is a bit different in that unlike the traditional 10% tongue weight on a camper, you shoot for the 5% to 7% range.
Remember that if the CGWR ratings between the truck and trailer added together are over 26K (with the F450 thats very easy to do) you do need a non-commerical DL in many states. That's the max GVWR ratings of both the trailer and truck combined not the actual weights of the two.

If you don't have the correct DL you basically are driving without a licenses and in many states that can void insurance out as well if something bad happens. Better safe than sorry. I know many people don't realize this or understand that but you can't claim ignorance if something bad happens. Same holds true for transiting through states as well on a trip. Then there are the oversize permits as well.
