28 Express Gas Tank/Vent

Postby anthonyd617 » Mon Jun 18, 2018 11:31 am

Every time I fill up my boat it clicks off and then I try to add a little bit more gas until it's basically spilled out a little bit. No matter how much I put in though the gauge never shows it's full and based on my GPH the tank is never truly full. Has anyone encountered this issue? I was thinking maybe something is blocking the vent inside like a spider or something that won't let it fill up all the way? Any help would be appreciated thank you!

Mine never shows more than 3/4 full when at rest, but shows full when on plane.
I've never had to put more than 50 gallons in mine to fill. I have no reason to run it close to empty and we have gas at the marina.
I don't like getting gas in the water, so I try not to overfill the tank.

I only use the gauge as a guide, I use hours for deciding when to fill up.

Mine also shows 3/4 full at rest and full on plane. We usually top off with fuel after every trip so we never get too low. The most I ever put in was 60 gallons so I had 12 left I guess.
