Regal 35 Sport Coupe RPM speed

Postby TheMaxwell » Thu Oct 26, 2017 11:43 am

Hi,

We are the new owners of a 2017 35 SC with Volvo Penta 300s (Gas).
I've noticed the boat is happiest up on plane at about 31mph at around 4600 rpms.
From Boats and BoatTest.com tests that were performed on this boat, I noticed that they indicate the boat does around 30mph at 3500 rpm.
Is my boat normal? Are the tests wrong? Should I have my props checked?

BTW; the boat is awesome!!!

Thanks in advance
Ron

I obtained this information from an authorized Regal dealership. I requested this information before purchasing my boat, he stated that Regal provided this to him. Please note that these performance figures are likely to be from a boat that is not bottom painted.

Mine seems to perform pretty close to this table.

The difference you noticed is because you have newer gen engines that work at higher rpms that previus gen that was used for the test published in Boatrest.com
2016 SC 35 , "Phoenix"

Thanks for the update on the RPM speed at cruising! How did you find out that this is a normal RPM range for the newer Volvo engines? I tried contacting Regal about the issue and they didn’t return my call.
