New, and old Regal boat model information and questions.

4460 vs 5260

My wife and I are going back n fourth over 2008 or 09 4460 vs 5260...never been on either just looking and would like to hear pros and cons on how they compare and if you really get that much more with 5260...

Don't have either pros or cons, but I googled the 5260 and it's a dream boat. If that's achievable - i'd have to try very hard to talk myself out of it. lol

I'd say that every foot on a boat is a huge difference, so the 5260 would be a huge difference over the 4460.

I wish I could afford to buy and the operating and maintenance costs to run a 5260. Maybe if I win a lottery someday! :)

I ordered a 09' 4460 in 08' and kept for 7 seasons, great boat. She had IPS 500 motors and I put almost 800 hrs. on in that time period. never had issues, the key is maintaining them and they will be good to you. I sold the boat in 2014 and bought a 30' CC to hold me over until I found my next cruiser. I looked at everything from Sea Ray, Cruisers, Regal, Carver, Silverton etc. up and down the east coast. After much consideration we ended up with a 2012 5260 out of Ft. Lauderdale. The reasons, I wanted a fairly late model boat but did not like Sea Ray because of the Zeus drives and the fact that you get a much smaller boat for more money in the Sea Ray. The 52SC dwarfs the 51 Sundancer. The Cruisers 52 was a great boat but had triple IPS 600's and I did not want to deal with three motors. The obvious choice was the 5260, it is roomier and appointed as nice if not nicer than any of the others. We purchased in July and took her to the Chesapeake on a two week voyage up the coast.
I loved my 4460 but It was hard to get comfortable while lounging on the boat. We wanted a full beam aft cabin and seating that you could feel like home in for our next boat. I also wanted the sport coupe with no isinglass In the windshield and enough seating for 8-10 people inside and out of the weather. I do not have the glass enclosure in the cockpit but find that the way the isinglass is set up it is extremely easy to deal with. It takes less than a minute to connect to ceiling or slide outer sections inward and out of the way for extra air. The heads in the 5260 are night and day from the 4460. Two full heads and the aft is a split head so my wife and I can get ready at the same time. The 4460's head was almost a wet head, meaning, the door closes but it is not sealed on the bottom so water gets into the floor of the entire head area.
To compare the two boats is not really fair, they are two completely different animals. The 52 is a very large and roomy vessel that you could virtually live on. The 4460 is a great boat to vacation on but is really designed for 2 people or a couple with 1-2 kids. I could go on and on so if you have specific questions let me know.
