Greese trap missing

Postby Lancerpilot » Wed Nov 29, 2017 12:19 pm

My 4260 has the built in grill option. I just noticed that it is missing the grease trap, it just has a 5/8 SS pipe coming from the grill to the cabinet where the tank is held. Can someone send me a pic of theres or a solution to purchase one? Regal, and my local dealership are coming up with nothing.
Thanks!

My SC35 came with the same discharge hose just lying below the grill...i just routed it to another location (under the trash can) in order to easily monitor if its indeed discharging anything. (So far nothing has come out of that hose...).
I guess you could add a container somewhere to catch any potential fluid coming out of the hose.

If its the Kenyon grill, that is in-case any water overflows out of the drip tray if it were to rain and be exposed, its NOT for any grease. The drop tray must be installed when using the grill and to make it smokeless you need to add about a cup of water to cover the bottom, but in a rain storm you need a drain for the rain water if you had the tray still in there or removed it. It can just drain into the bilge or if you really wanted to plumb it into the overboard discharge for the cockpit sink.

Mine was never connected to anything, just hung to get away from dripping on the fridge right under it.
Thanks, Chris

I also have a 35SC with the Kenyon grill. It has one of those disposable aluminum cooking pan. If its the same on your boat then just measure the size you need and go to your local grocery store to pick one up.

In the sport coupes its not really an issue, but in canvas based boats you really need to add the hose, so that if it rains and you aren't there, it could fill the pan and make a mess. ;)
Thanks, Chris

Thank you. I just noticed that I had a grease trap on the inside of the grill. I believe that you all are correct in saying thats just a water discharge for overflow. Thank you yet again for the education.
