Take the rear of the trumpet apart, and clean it, there should be thin piece of metal and spring.

Then take the compressor and oil it, should be under cockpit sink somewhere. The beauty of air horns is the simplicity of them. Only one moving part (diaphragm disk/spring), ok maybe technically two moving parts. Most likely its the compressor that is having issues, again if its not been oiled that could explain it. Same holds true for spring in horn. The salt air really eats things up. Also if any water has gotten into the compressor that can cause a few issues.
Thanks, Chris

My 2005 needed the disc cleaned, but I don't remember a spring in the horn.

The compressor finally needed to be replaced. I tried oiliing, but it just wasn't wasn't working at full power. I put in a new one and all has been well now. It's located behind the cockpit trash container. Open the door and look up toward the bottom of the radar arch just aft of the ice maker/refrigerator.

Yeah, I have same thing going on from time to time. If you take the back of the Horn apart there are plastic disc's. If you wipe those clean it usually does the trick. Also as others mentioned a drop of oil in the compressor once a year will help. I replaced the compressor last year but still have to tinker with it often.

Have any mods or updates you are planning over the winter?

Thanks for the input. I’ll try to find the compressor and oil it. I have never oiled it since I bought it 2007. Then I’ll check the diaphragm on the b@ck of the horn.it that doesn’t work I’ll buy a new one

The horn was manufactured by AFI,who are no longer in business. Marinco sells replacement parts.
I have always found the problem to be the lexan diaphragm needing to be cleaned.
