Voltmeter 28 Express

Postby EpicWakeJump » Thu May 17, 2018 10:23 am

I've always wondered why regal didn't put a DC voltmeter on the 28 express.

Frankly, I think its more useful than the AC voltmeter that is in the boat.

Well I changed that. And while I was at it, I put in some USB ports and a cig lighter/12v port. That 12v port will be useful for a fan while on the hook!

Here are the pics!

I did the same thing last summer.
It’s very helpful to see the house battery voltage and the additional 12volt plugs are a must.

Where did you buy the voltmeter and other pieces? It looks like it says Cilena in the first picture.

Thanks in advance.

Just found the identical item when I searched for cllena on amazon...
Might just save it and see if it goes on sale on "Prime Day"

This is a great post! I really need to do this myself! We stay on our mooring ball a lot now and I really need to be able to see how the house battery is doing. What did you connect the meter on the back of the panel? I also really like the addition of the USB ports next to the aft cabin as that is where I sleep and would love to stay charged up. I am thinking of adding a 2nd house battery. Going to try to move the existing battery trays around and fitting in a 3rd tray and hook up the house batteries in parallel.

Yes, I bought that set on amazon.

Once you pull out the electrical panel, you will see a grounding bar and many, many places to choose from where to measure your +.
