Recently installed Hurley H3O davits on my 3880 Flybridge and have a couple of issues. First when at the dock in calm water the tender does not stay in place without tie downs. I even placed the davit off center to consider engine weight. The tender is a standard west marine 310 hard bottom with 15 hp Suzuki (under 300 pounds). Also considering the price ($2,000) they should at least include backing plates.

Lastly, more of a question of weight capacity of the swim platform on the Regal. I slightly cantilevered the davit system and tender and engine about 300 pounds when getting underway before planning or even at slow speeds I noticed a lot of water coming on the swim platform and smoke coming from water hitting the exhaust. At rest of the exhaust holes are about 2 inches above the water line. Any thoughts.
