Additional diesel heater

Postby APL » Fri Sep 22, 2017 3:31 pm

I just bought the Regal 3060 2007 model. I love the boat and I have in the boat gen +AC/heater.
I'm living in Finland, meaning quite north so springs and autumns are cold. I like boating in the archipelago so lot of natural harbors/island with no electricity.
I could run the gen + AC/heater but it's make quite the noise.
So I was thinking to add additional diesel heater like Webasto / Wallas etc.

Any I idea which would be best model, where to install in my boat etc. You can't install heater same space as gas engines.

I added a heater core in front of the AC cooler inlet, I also installed a 1500 watt inverter. The core was from an auxiliary heater you can buy for a truck. I connected it to the water heater connection on the motor. With the inverter I do not need to run the generator in order to operate the air-conditioning unit in fan-only mode, thus the exiting AC fan and air ducts can be used. I do not have any photos of the installation but it produces plenty of heat.

Are the heater control panels on R8s the same as later model rovers?

Ie the MK3 200, 25 or ZR?

They look very similar but are they a straight swap?
