3260 Phender Pro cleats

Postby Regal3260 » Fri Jul 14, 2017 9:54 am

So, I bought these Phender Pro quick release cleats over the winter and finally got around to installing them.
These are the new cleats that are being installed on many new boats, especially Regals.

Just like with everything else boat related, nothing is done easily.
To access the starboard side I had to explore and remove some paneling.

Found an access panel under the arch to work from behind.

I purchased the retro cleat which has a different backing than the OEM cleat.

Some 4200 and locktite, one down one to go.

Nice job

I think these things are the best thing since sliced bread. So easy to hang a fender and at the right height and I can do it with one hand. Not to mention not taking up space on the cleats.

Nice Job! I love those.

It makes things so much easier, pop on fender and pop off.

Did your 2018 Regal come with 6 of these? If so can you send pics of the locations.

I would have put in some backing plates for sure. You will be surprised how much force are on fenders if things are rocking and rolling between two things. I have a friend who was standing next to a large yacht and had a fender line snap and the force of the line broke her clavicle on its way down. She was on the dock next to the boat when some waves came in. Talk about not at the right place at the right time for sure. The larger the backing plate the better around them. ;)
Thanks, Chris
