Welcome to the Regal Owners Forum!

Postby rommer » Fri Nov 16, 2007 8:09 pm

Well, I hope that this site can become what once was. The special friendships that were made at the old Regal Owners Club need to live on! The forum is a work in progress, I've copied the old layout but that doesn't mean it needs to stay that way. I've also selected the latest and greatest forum software so I'm still learning what it can do. (Also, it's not an official release yet, what they call a release candidate so it may still have a bug or 2)

All feed back is welcome and wanted. Have ideas for forum names? Seen a feature elsewhere that you'd like to see here? Just let me know and I'll do my best to make it happen.

A partial list of the features this forum offers:

PM's (Private Messaging)
Attachments, no need to post pictures at a foreign site and link them here. Now you can easily upload your images and post in one screen.
A search engine that actually works.
And a full user control panel, avatars, signatures, etc with online help.
Make text larger or smaller with a single click
and much much more!

I also will bring back Monday night chats in the very near future!

So hit the email and help spread the word! Who will be the first to bring up Pledge? :D

Two more features that the forum software has. Foes, or ignore list and bookmarks. Ignores can be setup in the User Control Panel, someone bothers you and you don't give a damn what they say? Now you can add them to your list and their posts will be invisible to you.

Bookmarks sound interesting, lets you bookmark certain threads/posts. For example I might bookmark my modifications so if someone asks about something I've done I can easily dig up the old info. Then again the search function here is supposed to be excellent. We don't have enough posts to really check it yet, I use the same software backend with a SPAM block system and it VERY fast and at times there are close to 100 million records.

One problem I have with the bookmarks, I can't yet figure out how to set one! If anyone runs across it let me know.

Well Rommer, you did it. Site looks awesome. Glad to see a site just for us Regal owners again. I tried the other site but found it really boring. Lost all interest in posting or reading anything. Hopefully if we all try we can bring this site back to the lofty heights we all used to enjoy.

Thanks for all the kind words.

I emailed Regal about this site. The server logs show they poked around a bit but I haven't received an email back.

Keep getting the word out!

John,

The site looks great! I have not had a chance to post any PICS yet but reading about the ability to attach PICS directly is a great improvement.

Thanks for all of the hard work involved in bringing this site together.

HI all:
Things seem to be really slow over at boater Ed. Not like the old days for sure. Thanks for putting this together Rommer. I hope I am still welcome here even though I no longer have a Regal. I really love the idea of a live chat again.

Hi Jeff,

Wow, I see good news travels fast... nice to see you here.. looking for the faithful others to join us.
I get the feeling it's just a matter of time.. Personally, I like the smaller community better myself. ;)

Alot was lost with the "temporary housing" and I think most of us felt that. Looking forward to getting our own place back. Thanks Rommer.

Hello to the Regal owners!!!

Thanks John for all the work you put into setting this up and thanks to Joe for giving me a heads up about the new Regal site. I just registered and it's amazing how much more I feel at home already, I enjoyed the BE site but it just wasn't quite the same as having our own site.
