We did a 2 week trip from Kent Island to The Tides Inn then up the Potomac to DC, Alexandria, va. Solomons Island and back to Kent Island.
What are peoples plans for 2019?

I haven't made it to the Tides yet, I hear it is the finest on the Bay. How long was that trip from K.I. to the Tides?

Will likely do a week and go St Michaels, Oxford and Cambridge. Occasional weekends up to Baltimore and going to try Herrington Harbor this year.

Hoping the water gods are more favorable this summer on the Upper Bay - the debris from the Conowingo put a big damper on the second half of the summer. Assuming normal conditions, planning to do an expended cruise along the eastern shore, working our way down through Kent Narrows, some time in Rock Hall and an extended visit in St Michaels. Maybe even explore some real estate in the area to close the gap between house and marina. Any suggestions for "diamonds in the rough" along that route?

Amen irish86, last summer was crap between the rains, dam openings and debris. We managed St Michaels and a couple Baltimore runs, along with the usual Sassafras, Still Pond and Worton Crk. We had Oxford and Cambridge on the list, but deferred to the 2019 season based on last years weather.

Yep, last year was a tough boating season on the Chesapeake Bay. Hope this year is much better.

We are in Annapolis but frequent to Round Bay, St Michales, Cambridge Hyatt, Chester River (multiple anchor spots), SouthRiver, Still Pond, Fairly Creek, Hart Miller Island and a number of other spots. We try to go each weekend however the kids (teenagers) are making that more difficult. We do force them to do a week long trip that usually starts in the Choptank and goes up to Baltimore and ends in Fairlee Creek.

Chesapeake Lover,
As far as Tides Inn is concerned, I wouldn't waist my $$. The facility has gone way down hill. Stormy, the Dockmaster, does a great job, the marina itself is very nice but the heads and Inn are the worst. WAY over priced restaurant and facilities are outdated. We were told that they were going to be remodeling the property but until that happens we won't be back.
Just a note for those that travel to the Hyatt in Cambridge, they are doing the buy 4 get 4 nights free again this year. It is a great deal, just call Justin the Dockmaster at the marina and he will set it up.

Hey All -
Looks like some fun trips planned. We are always around many of the marinas you mentioned as well - Love to connect with some of my fellow Regal People.
One of our favorite spots, relatively unknown, is Rolph's Wharf Marina. Way up the Chester River. Beautiful ride up the river - full of wildlife to be seen. Marina is outside of Chestertown. Nothing fancy at all - just a 'good 'ole boy' marina. Pool, Volleyball, Beach, Bar on the beach. Sometimes live music. At night it is so dark, you can see lots of stars.

Also love Hyatt, & St. Mikes. The Hyatt deal is great - you need to prepay to get the special. You only pay the resort fee and electric for the extra nights you stay there.

We have not traveled north much to C&D canal and places above Baltimore (Great Oak not included). What are some places to visit to the North. I'm in the Magothy so that is a great weekend hop for me.

Chesapeake Lover,
There are a bunch of Marina's that are worth the trip up North. Tolchester is always fun with live bands, Pool, Beach Bar, Restaurant etc. Also one of our favorites is Georgetown Yacht Basin up the Sassafrass at next to Kitty Night house and also has the cheapest fuel on the bay. Tidewater Marina in Havre De Grace is nice but no pool. We also like Chesapeake Inn on the C & D. I also hear that the Chestertown Marina has been completely done over so that is a spot we may try this year as well.
