It was worth the extra investment if the general surveyor is not familiar with your set up.
I've owned 2 3860's a 2002 and a 2006. Very nice boat. I still have a 2008 4460 listed with AM PM in Pasadena, MD, even nicer. Always stored inside and near perfect. Just in case your 3860 doesn't work out. In any event I have had almost no issues with the2 3860's or the 4460.
Hi Dcookie.
Thanks for the info. Why are you selling the 4460 ?
I agree they are nice boats... eye catchers for sure.
What was your experience with fuel consumption with your 3860 ? Did it make you tighten up when you re-fueled ?
I have employed Randy Renn (Surveyor) who also knows engines. He has already taken oil samples and sent to the lab, and said the engines seem to be great. Of course, a sea trial may show more info and that will be this coming week.
He was very impressed with the condition of the boat and said "it was as clean as a new condo" . He did not find anything of concern.... yet.
Regards.
