Marinas in Annapolis?

Postby rommer » Fri May 07, 2010 11:28 am

Will be traveling with 4 or 5 boats to the Chesapeake this summer and one of the stops is Annapolis. Anyone have recommendations for what marina to stay at?

Looking for relatively close to restaurants and the Naval museum, must be dog friendly and have a pool for the kids. The boats range in size from 38 to 44 feet.

Thanks

Try the Annapolis Yacht Basin. Their website is http://www.yachtbasin.com/index.htm. Their rates are reasonable, besides you get a free welcome kit which includes a toothbrush! We have stayed their on 2 occasions and they are definitely high end on the quality of their marina. Very professional, courteous and secure marina. Bathhouses are clean and very well maintained. The location is within walking distance of the Naval Academy and all shops downtown. As you go into the harbour they are to the port side of the City Docks, thus right in the downtown area. I can highly recommend them to you.

I would second Annapolis Yacht Basin. They are the closest to town and have some huge boats slipped in there and a fuel dock. Other marinas are within walking distance but it is a long walk across the Spa Creek bridge. You would most likely be backed up to the wall in the rear which makes it nice to get on and off the boat and go right into town. There really is no good place in the marina to walk the dogs but there is a nice little park just up the street.
